• FREE PARTIAL MANUSCRIPT EVALUATION

We ask that you submit the first three chapters of your manuscript up to twenty pages for evaluation. This way we can get an idea of your style, voice, skills, and story to enable us to assess the work that needs to be done. At this time, we will give you a written evaluation and if you want to proceed, we will discuss what you choose and give you a quote.

• COMPLETE MANUSCRIPT EVALUATION

We will read your entire manuscript. Developmental editing will find issues with the storyline of a manuscript. It can include checking the overall impression of the timeline, plot, character strengths, and more. Every manuscript is different and it will give you an overview of the work that remains to be done. ​

• ​​​STRUCTURAL EDITING

Studies the structure of the manuscript, it includes plot, flow, pacing, characters, settings, themes, and writing style as a whole. If you do a Complete Manuscript Evaluation this step is not necessary.

 

• ​REVISIONS BY AUTHOR WITH RE-EDITS

This focuses on revision. This is by far the most important edit. Accuracy, consistency, and clarity are key components of any manuscript. This is usually called copy or line editing. Still, I prefer to tackle these together because they expose the weaknesses and allow the author to strengthen and correct line by line and overall. It corrects prose, flow and timeline or research errors. This resolves mistakes in spelling, grammar, and punctuation. It helps ensure consistent  content and concise and creative language.

• PROOFREADING 

This is the final edit before publication and finds any errors in formatting, book cover, printing, and the manuscript itself. This copy is in paperback book form and can be sent to ARC Readers for advance reviews.

• BOOK COVERS/GRAPHICS

This is personal to each author and each story. We are careful to try and bring your vision to life! The cost depends on format. An E-Book is of course less expensive where a full book cover front, back and spine is more. If you want custom graphics or several edits it will be more expensive. The usual range is $100.00 to $500.00. However, they can be more or less expensive depending on what the author has envisioned for their cover. ​

• ​​​​PUBLICATION BY STONE PONY PUBLISHING

Includes all aspects of publishing and is again, an individual experience and will be quoted according to what your particular needs include. Not all manuscripts will be accepted for publication under the Stone Pony Publishing Brand. There are some subjects we do not publish. Porn, abuse, stories of rape or child abuse unless it is part of a non-fiction experience and even then not graphic. I'm sure you understand. Each manuscript is different and while we will evaluate every story, we may decline to edit or publish some subject matter.
